This is the home page for Region Six of The World Community for Christian Meditation. Region six covers Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas & Oklahoma. WCCM is a world-wide community that has grown out of the teachings of John Main, OSB, and continued after the death of Fr. John by Fr. Laurence Freeman, OSB. Father John believed that meditation is a primary means of spiritual growth. He rediscovered meditation in the ancient Christian tradition and set about to teach it to the modern world.
Our community is a diverse fellowship of more than a thousand meditation groups and individual meditators in over 100 countries. Through this form of contemplative prayer, we experience a deeper spiritual life that enlightens every aspect of our existence. The way of meditation is simple, but it is not easy. By meditating together in silence and sharing the Word with one another, we are strengthened.
Region Six sponsors retreats, group meditations and other events on a regular basis. Please check this site from time to time, as events are posted as soon as they are scheduled.
